How will having no Results Show impact the voting?

In this season of So You Think You Can Dance, dancers will be eliminated towards the end of the show based on a combination of the vote results from the previous show and the Judges’ opinion of the dancers’ performances in that week’s show. Once the Top 10 dancers are determined, dancers will be eliminated towards the end of the show based on America’s votes from the prior week. As a result, those eliminated dancers will not have their voting information included during the recap and any vote attempts for those eliminated dancers will not count.

  1. (1) SuperVoteTM Online Voting: You cannot vote for the dancers who are eliminated towards the end of the show so the option to vote for those dancers will no longer available on the vote page once the results are known. If you are in the Mountain, Pacific or Hawaiian time zone regions but go online to vote before the show is telecast in your region, you will see a ‘spoiler alert’ message as the results for that week will be revealed. If you assigned votes during the show for a dancer who is then eliminated towards the end of the show, those vote assignments will be returned to the overall 20 votes available (combined with FOX NOW App Voting) for you to reassign to other dancers should you wish, before submitting the actual votes.

How do I find out the results?

So You Think You Can Dance will air each week on FOX (see local listings for details). The eliminations will be based on a combination of the vote results from the previous show and the Judges’ opinion of the performances of the dancers that week who received the lowest number of votes. Once the Top 10 dancers are determined, dancers will be eliminated towards the end of the show based on America’s votes from the prior week. The eliminations will occur towards the end of the show. Make sure you don’t miss a single minute of So You Think You Can Dance each week if you want to see how your vote affected the results!

Is it true that some people can cast votes outside of the valid window after the show?

No, this is not true. As part of the process to ensure that the So You Think You Can Dance voting system is accurate and ready for the public to vote, voting will be opened briefly at various times. These vote windows are for testing purposes only and any votes received outside of the valid vote windows after each episode do not count as valid votes.

Can I vote by using my cell phone?

Yes, if you have a compatible handheld device you can vote on your phone’s browser (www.fox.com/dance) or via the FOX NOW App.

How do I SuperVoteTM Online and via the FOX NOW App?

Online and FOX NOW App Voting is available to Facebook account holders from within the Continental U.S., Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Simply go to www.fox.com/dance and follow the links to vote for online or download the App from the App StoreSM, Google PlayTM or Windows Phone Store. Data rates may apply for App download. Vote online or via the FOX NOW App at the end of the show or shortly thereafter. Online and FOX NOW App Voting closes at 10am PT the following morning. Viewers will be able to reserve and assign up to 20 votes per Facebook account ID per vote episode (combined for both Online and FOX NOW App Voting), spreading those votes across as many or few dancers as desired prior to the opening of the vote window. Votes cannot be submitted (or counted) unless the vote window is open (see ‘When Can I Vote’ below). Therefore, please wait until the vote window officially opens to submit your votes.

During the vote window, you will see a ‘vote’ button. When you click on the ‘vote’ button you will be directed to a Facebook login page where you will need to enter your e-mail address and password to log in (if you are not already logged in to Facebook). If you do not currently have a Facebook account you will not be able to vote online unless you create a new account. Once you successfully log in using your Facebook account you will be required to accept the Facebook application permissions (this happens the first time you vote). Once you have accepted the permissions you will be shown a ‘spoiler alert’ page so that, if you are still watching the show and do not want to know who has been eliminated, the results are not revealed. If you opt to proceed past the spoiler alert (note, you can opt to check a box so that in the future you do not get a spoiler alert page shown to you again on that device), you will be shown the grid of the dancers up for vote where eliminated dancers from that episode will appear to be grayed out and you will be unable to select their image. To allocate votes to a dancer, click/touch their image and then select the + / - buttons to add or subtract votes. When you are done allocating votes to that dancer, select the ‘confirm’ button and you will be taken back to the contestant grid to review your votes across all dancers or repeat the process with other dancers if you have votes remaining. You may only allocate up to 20 votes per Facebook Account ID per vote episode. Once you have allocated your votes click the ‘submit’ button. You will then be taken to a screen to input a ‘CAPTCHA’ code for verification purposes. Once the CAPTCHA information is inputted you must click the ‘Confirm Votes’ button to complete the process. If you do not correctly enter the CAPTCHA information you will be prompted to try again. If you successfully vote, you will receive a page that thanks you for your vote(s). If you have votes remaining you will be shown how many and you can select the ‘keep voting’ button. You will be prompted earlier in the process to allow the So You Think You Can Dance voting application to post to Facebook on your behalf. If you accept this permission step the ‘thanks for voting’ page will also confirm that this activity has been added to your Facebook Timeline. Your vote will be added to Facebook only once for each contestant for which you submit votes, and you will have the option to add a message to the Facebook post. If you do not want your vote activity to be added to Facebook, you can decline the automatic post permission and/or turn the ‘add activity to timeline’ option to ‘Off’ via the Online Voting settings (the ‘cog’ image at the top of the page). You may also remove the individual vote post on an automatic share by clicking the 'Remove' link on the thank you page. If you turn the feature to “Off” prior to voting, you will be presented with the option to post your vote to Facebook by clicking the manual ‘share your vote' button on the thank you page. This will also allow you to share your vote only once per contestant. The 'Add activity to Timeline' feature can be toggled on and off at any time via settings. You will also be given the option to share the fact you voted via Twitter, if you have an account. To do this, simply select the ‘Tweet Your Vote’ button, log in to Twitter (if you are not already logged in) and tweet.

You may vote up to 20 times per Facebook account ID per performance show. Online and FOX NOW App Voting combined is limited to 20 votes per Facebook account ID, per performance show. Any additional votes you cast or attempt to cast above this limit will NOT count.

To vote online or via the FOX NOW App, you must have an active Facebook account, have javascript enabled, have cookies enabled and you must not remove the voting App from your list of Apps on the Facebook site during a vote window. I’m seeing the ‘vote closed’ page during the active vote window for online – why?

If you’re sure you are trying to vote online during the active vote window but you’re seeing the ‘closed’ page, please clear your browser cache and then refresh your page.

I am having trouble voting online – why?

Although the Internet can handle huge volumes of vote submissions simultaneously, there may be times (particularly just after the show) when your local service provider may not be able to handle every attempt due to the sheer volume. If you are trying to vote during the vote window but it isn’t processing your attempt, make sure you have pop ups enabled via your browser’s or device’s settings (i.e. turn off pop up blocker), clear your history/cache and try again. If that is not the issue, be patient and try again.

I am unable to submit my vote via SuperVoteTM Online or the FOX NOW App– why?

If you are trying to reserve your votes during the show before the vote window opens and select ‘submit’ but do not see the ‘come back later’ page or, if you are voting during the vote window and all you see is the ‘submitting votes, please wait’ page, it is likely that you have pop up blockers enabled on your device or browser. If you experience this issue, change your browser’s or device’s settings to enable pop ups, then clear your history/cache and try again. If you still encounter issues, be patient and try again.

My mobile device keyboard is unresponsive when trying to input the CAPTCHA letters/numbers – why?

Sometimes smart phone devices with tap screen keyboards become unresponsive when trying to input the CAPTCHA details if the cursor moves so that it is no longer correctly within the input field for the CAPTCHA. Make sure you click back to the CAPTCHA input box and try again. If this does not resolve the issue, please exit out of the App and try again, making sure that when you get to the CAPTCHA entry, the cursor is correctly within the CAPTCHA input field.

Is FOX collecting personal information through Online Voting?

When you use the Online Voting and FOX NOW App vote methods, you will be asked to share some personal information with FOX for vote verification purposes and for other permissible uses set forth in the FOX.com Privacy Policy. Please refer to the FOX.com Privacy Policy at http://www.fox.com/policy.php for more information about the personal information collected by www.fox.com/dance and how that information may be used.

Why am I getting a ‘page does not exist’ or ‘online voting not currently available in your location’ error page when trying to vote online from within the U.S.?

If you are trying to vote from within the U.S. but see a So You Think You Can Dance page which says ‘The page you are looking for does not exist’ or ‘Online voting is not currently available in your location’, it may be that your connection to the internet is being routed via a region not in the U.S. This may be caused by your Internet Service Provider (ISP) experiencing local level congestion during peak times and therefore load balancing the traffic via a less congested region, which could be located outside of the U.S. If you feel you have reached this page in error, please clear your browser’s cache and then refresh the page. If the problem persists, please be patient and try again later.

I am having issues with some vote buttons using a Touch Screen device. Why?

Some touch screen devices (e.g., Windows 8 Touch Screen computers) may experience sensitivity issues when navigating around the SuperVote experience. There may be times when the mouse works but the touch screen does not, and vice versa. This may be due to the browser being used. If you experience this issue and cannot proceed to complete your vote submission, please try another device or browser.
